Cannabidiol-CBD: A growing body of clinical evidence suggests that cannabinoids are beneficial for a range of clinical conditions, including pain, inflammation, epilepsy, sleep disorders, the symptoms of multiple sclerosis, schizophrenia and other conditions. This data may help explain some of the observed CBD effects including analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-anxiety.

Key Finding: This data indicates that topical CBD application has therapeutic potential for relief of arthritis pain-related behaviors and inflammation without evident side-effects.

CBD has been studied for its bioavailability in different delivery methods. Oral bioavailability ranges from about 6-15% (Ohlsson 1986)(Samara 1988). Topical products have a bioavailability rate somewhere around 45% (Paudel 2010).

Topical administration allows a steady infusion of a drug to be delivered over a prolonged period of time, while minimizing adverse effects of higher drug peak concentrations, making it ideal for localized symptoms, such as those found in arthritis and peripheral neuropathic pain.

Arnica Plant Arnica is well known for its anti-inflammatory properties. It contains a wide array of inflammation-fighting plant compounds, such as sesquiterpene lactones, flavonoids, and phenolic acids. As such, it's believed to help with pain management.
tumeric root
Turmeric has been used as a medicine for centuries to treat wounds, infections, colds, and liver disease. Studies have shown that curcumin, a compound in turmeric, may reduce inflammation in the body.
peppermint plant Peppermint contains menthol, which has a cooling effect on sore, achy muscles. It also has analgesic, and has anti-inflammatory properties.
white camphor tree White Camphor oil is a common topical analgesic; treats muscle aches and pains, while stimulating circulation, by interacting with receptors on the sensory nerves. Camphor oil also reduces chronic muscle and joint pain over long periods.
Calendula Plant Calendula has been found to have strong anti-inflammatory properties via powerful flavonoids. These plant-based antioxidants protect cells from free radical damage and pro-inflammatory compounds like C-reactive protein and cytokines.

Anti-inflammatory linoleic acid is also found in high concentrations in calendula. Its powerful anti-inflammatory properties make it a potent remedy for all kinds of inflammatory issues.

Calendula can help prevent and relax muscle spasms. Data from one study showed that the crude extract of its flowers relaxed spontaneous muscle contractions.
Eucalyptus leaves Eucalyptus Oil: Research suggests that eucalyptus oil eases joint pain. Eucalyptus oil helps to reduce pain and inflammation associated with many conditions. It may also be helpful to people experiencing back pain or those recovering from a joint or muscle injury.
Ginger root Ginger: When it comes to using Ginger oil to reduce the discomfort associated with joint pain, studies showed that Ginger oil significantly reduced joint inflammation. Another study also showed that patients with osteoarthritis experienced less knee pain when they used Ginger oil.
